Over 75 Health Assessment

This is a health assessment ideally performed in the comfort of your own home but if his is notable it can be performed at the clinic. Home health assessments are for people aged 75 and over which provide your GP with an opportunity to gain in-depth assessment of your health.

 

The assessment covers medical, physical, and psychological aspects in order to maintain good health.

 

It takes approximately 60 minutes at your home and Medicare pays the rebate for the service .

 

A health assessment does not mean there is something wrong with you it simply helps to keep a good level of health and prevent any further illness.

45 - 49 Health Assessment

ARE YOU BETWEEN 45-49 YEARS OLD?

When did you last consider checking your OVERALL health?

 

Many chronic diseases can be prevented. Being aware of the risk factors might help you prevent disease or illness. A comprehensive health check can help you control future health issues.

 

WHY? Australian department of health categorises 45-49 year olds as the demographic most at risk of developing a preventable chronic illness.

 

Your general health and wellbeing can be impacted by many things, including:

  • Your family history

  • Blood Pressure, cholesterol, BMI

  • Lifestyle and dietary habits including smoking, alcohol, and   exercise.

  • Your risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease

  • Sexual health

 

The practice nurse and doctor can discuss with you each of these issues and also discuss the importance of looking after your mental health.

 

Additional tests or scans can then be conducted, including:

  • Blood test

  • ECG

  • Cervical Screening

 

Some patients will also benefit from a referral to a physiotherapist or even a podiatrist. These services are located in our clinic.

 

Health Assessments run for approximately 45 minutes with practice Nurse, 15 minutes with your doctor.
